Sonata in the Running for Green Car of the Year Award

Here at Cocoa Hyundai, we already know there are lots of reasons to love the new 2016 Sonata, so we get extra excited when we see it getting the recognition it deserves from outside sources. When we heard the Sonata was in the running for an upcoming award, we knew we had to share the news with you.

This past Friday, we learned that the newest Sonata is a finalist for the Green Car Journal's Green Car of the Year honor. Journalists from the eco-centric publication analyzed a wide variety of vehicles, taking into account fuel economy, fuel types, and available green technologies. The extensive field was narrowed down to just five finalists, of which the Sonata was one. Editor and publisher of GCJ, Ron Cogan, said "Offering the Sonata in efficient gasoline, hybrid and plug-in hybrid choices at approachable price points is an important strategy for encouraging cleaner and more efficient personal transportation on our highways.” The result of the final vote will be announced at the Los Angeles Auto Show, November 19.
